FERRARI CHALLENGE
I wanted a bike… and they gave me a Ferrari!
Together with my friend Marco Passaniti and Roberto Viva, I was part of the team of official photographers for the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, held at the ‘Enzo and Dino Ferrari’ International Circuit in Imola from 15 to 21 October. The event brought together the drivers of the various series produced by the Maranello company to celebrate the end of the sporting season with the awarding of the titles, together with the fans.
There was also space for non-competitive activities with the F1 Clienti single-seaters, the Programma XX cars, the Le Mans winning 449 P hyper cars and their world champions. The spectacular Ferrari show was one of the most eagerly awaited adrenaline rushes for the public and Scuderia Ferrari Club fans.
The weather was unpredictable and it felt like a rally in the UK, with ‘4 seasons in a day’, but it added a bit of variety to the photo shoots. Great work inside too, with conventions and displays of cars so beautiful you had to look away from the camera to admire them without the lens. I may be biased, but Imola and Ferrari should be on the Unesco World Heritage list…
